Starting a new WordPress blog can be a fun, new, exciting experience in your online journey. My blogging journey started back in 2011 man time fly’s when you working online.
Where did the time go its 2019 now?
Blogging and article writing was big back then you could post a 500 word article, target you keyword build a few backlinks and with a little luck you could get on the first page of Google boy has things change now. I still love to write every now and then just to put out new content to my audience.
Writing new content is to me is still one of the best skills to have in Internet Marketing industry and blogging still has a lot of benefits to it even in 2019.
Let take a look at a few things why you still need to produce new content on a regular basis whether you are blogging, writing script for YouTube video, or guest blogging
-Blogging can position you as a expert in your field
-It can build your brand name
-Increases your Brand Awareness
-Attracts new visitors through the search engines
-Generates new customers to your business
And this is just a small list of things how blogging can help grow your business.
So lets get started on your blog
First things first when starting a blog you need to know who is your target audience and is this market in demand and not over saturated with millions of other blogs in the same industry that you can help by providing valuable content to on a regular basis.
If you can manage to get this part right form the start you on your way to having a successful blog.
Next question you might be asking yourself is how to I found out how much competition is out there in my niche.
To do this you can do a simple search on google just type in your niche and see how many competing websites google returns this will give you an idea of how many competing websites you are going up against.
A tool I use to get more details about my competition before I enter a niche is Market Samurai
Market Samurai is software you can use on PC or Mac that does keyword research finds additional relevant keywords then analyze them for you and even checks seo competition for the first 10 web pages and much more.
Here are a few task that Market Samurai can help with your business
-Find additional relevant keywords – then analyze the total traffic, visitor values, competition and likely buying intentions around these keywords.
Analyze the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) competition around the top 10 web-pages in your current keyword market.
Boost your search engine rankings, pump-up your site traffic, and build high quality back links quickly and easily.
When you find your passion its like never working at all in your business your just having fun doing what you love to do everyday. I really do think in order to stay in your business long-term you need to have so kind of passion or drive to keep you going because the road is not always smooth you are going to run into some pot holes along the way.
#1 Choosing a Domain Name
Every blog needs good hosting and a catchy name so how do you choose the right name for your new blog one way is to use your own name for your blog is yes that’s right your own name if its available just like the blog you are reading from right now I chose to brand my blog with my own name with a little add on of course. If your name isn’t available try using ask in front of your name or choose a different Top level domain other than .com like (, .org, .net, .co, .website, .art etc…..)
#2 Choosing a Hosting provider
If this is your first time setting up a WordPress blog I would recommend SiteGround they are on of the top rated hosting companies in the world with over 2,000,000 domains. They are even officially recommended by WordPress.org
Here are a few things why I recommend SiteGround to host your WordPress blog.
-Super fast servers that with SSD and a free content delivery network (CDN) service to delivery your content faster and more efficient to your visitors
-Create unlimited email accounts with SpamExperts to block out spam
-Free SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt SSL that keeps your data safe.
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. I know this might sound very geeky , but actually its not that compilated . SSL Certificates validate your website’s identity, and encrypt the information visitors send to, or receive from, your site. This keeps thieves from spying on any exchange between you and your shoppers.
Having a free ssl certificate was one of the determining factors why this would be one of the best hosting providers starting out. SSL certificate can get very costly also depending on what kind of website you have some SSL certificates can run you $295/yr if you are in the ecommerce industry.
Installing WordPress is very simple and free most hosting providers will have that option inside their hosting options
But if for some reason you don’t see this option to install wordpress you can download it here WordPress Download dont worry its free and it want cost you a thing to upload it to your hosting server.
